Spain have won the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In the final near New York on 19 July, they beat defending champions Argentina 1-0 after extra time, with substitute Ferran Torres scoring the decisive goal. It is Spain's second world title after 2010. For Lionel Messi it was likely his last World Cup – he left the pitch in tears.
