Who she is

Laila! is described as a singer, songwriter and producer all at once – her sound is often called airy „bedroom R&B“ with semi-rapped vocals and strong melodies. She wrote and produced her 2024 debut album „Gap Year!“ entirely herself; magazines including Pitchfork, Billboard and Vogue listed it among the best albums of the year.

The new single is her first in two years – light, sunny, with an island vibe. She served as creative director of the video herself and shot it on St. Thomas, where she lived for a few months during the pandemic.
